Discover the Quaker Way

We invite you to join us for worship at any Quaker Meeting.  You are welcome any time; everyone is.  Worship is the foundation of our community life.  It’s the best way to get to know us.  We hope the information on this site helps too.  Find the nearest Meeting to you at QuakerFinder.org.

We base our faith on silent worship, and our own experiences of the divine.  We seek to experience God directly, within ourselves and in our relationships with others and the world around us. We meet together for worship in local meetings which are inclusive and open to all.

Our focus is on our experience rather than written statements of belief. Our community is based on sharing a powerful form of silent worship, and on our core values of truth, equality, simplicity and peace. This leads us to translate our faith into action by working for social justice, supporting peacemakers and caring for the environment.

The Quaker way has its roots in Christianity and finds inspiration in the Bible and the life and teachings of Jesus. Quakers also find meaning and value in the teachings of other faiths; we acknowledge that ours is not the only way.

QTube returns

Listen to Friends from Baltimore Yearly Meeting about their experience with Quakers.

In 2008, the Yearly Meeting’s Advancement and Outreach committee recorded these videos at annual session in a project they called “Qtube.”  The videos are intended to give today’s inquirers a “taste” of what modern Quakers and the Quaker way are about.  They were prominently posted on the Yearly Meeting’s main website, but fell off it when the site was redesigned.  The complete set is available on YouTube.
